Community Vision & Social Projects
Take My Junk is a private business that is run by a Canadian family who saw a need in the community to reduce waste and help lower income labourers and families by re-using unwanted items of residents leaving Dubai or the UAE. Founded it in 2007, Take My Junk has re-used thousands of items from the rich to the poor. It’s is owned and operated by BuFaisal used furniture trading.
In order to meet this need, Take My Junk collects unwanted items from residents and companies in Dubai. The organization then sells or redistributes these items to labourers, maids, or low income families in Ajman and Sharjah. We try to provide quality goods to families that cannot afford to purchase new items. Since takemyjunk has began, thousands of items have been re-used and kept out of Dubai landfills.
After expenses Take My Junk donates a share of it's revenue to Ajman Medical Clinic. They have a Medical Fund that caters to many labourers who need medical attention. Men who do not have 30aed for consultation fee's receive a free voucher from the Take My Junk Fund.
Environmental Impact
By selling or gifting your unwanted items to Take My Junk, you are not only helping those in need but you are also making a positive impact on the environment. Take My Junk will RE-USE or sell items to those in need. This prevents items from ending up in landfills and saves on the production of new items. In addition, we RECYCLE items that cannot be re-used. Through recycling and re-using we help conserve our precious natural resources for generations to come.
At Take My Junk, we have many exciting ways that you can get involved!
